WOODTURNERS OF SOUTHWEST MISSOURI March 2006 NEWS LETTER Meeting Date: March 25th Demo Event: Bill Bogart - Pen Turning All normal meetings will remain on the fourth Saturday of each month unless there are special circumstances that require otherwise. If that should occur, there will be adequate notice. The things discussed during the last meeting are as follows, 1. The attending members were asked to vote on keeping the web page active and retaining Mr. Andy Hilton as the web page administrator and paying the fee of $200.00 annually for that service. The members voted "yes." 2. The topic of the Walnut Street Arts Festival was discussed and the price of $100.00 for a 10' x 10' demo area (without tent) was agreed on by attending members. Please sign up to sit at the booth by contacting club officers or signing the sheet at the monthly meeting. 3. AAW Symposium will be in Louisville, KY June 22, 23, 24. That is Thursday, Friday, Saturday. If you plan to attend, you should start making reservations now. There will be five Model #2436 Oneway lathes given as door prizes and 25 Jet mini lathes and tools given to the youth session attendee winners. 4. Please remember that if you are having difficulty with a tool or technique, please bring a chunk of wood and the tool you would like to have some coaching on its proper use to the meeting and some one will be there after the regular meeting time to assist in any way they can. If there are problems you might be experiencing as to how to continue on with a current project, bring it and get some input from different turners. 5. Bring someone with you that is not a member just to inform them of the craft we enjoy and receive free raffle tickets.
