WOODTURNERS OF SOUTHWEST MISSOURI January 2006 NEWS LETTER 01-19-06 New officers are in place for this year and they are Mike Ilkiw as returning President, Dan Mc Kinzie as returning Vice President, John Taliaferro, Treasurer and myself, Jim Johnston as Secretary. The meetings will be as they were last year, 9:00 A.M. till approximately 12:01 P.M. the forth Saturday of each Month at the same location in Nixa. Our thanks to Frank Carnahan for the use of the facility. The agenda for the upcoming meeting will be the usual business that has to be taken care of and then Mr. Andy Hilton will be doing the demonstration segment. Between now and the time of the meeting please take time to remember why we started turning wood in the first place. It may have been for a new experience, just something to do or creating a thing of beauty. Now who do you know that you would like to share this experience with by introducing them to turning? Are you willing to share some of your time to help them learn the basics? The term "bring a friend and share the fun" has been used a lot and is something we should consider. Helping one on one with a new turner would require some dedication but if it is a friend you enjoy spending time with, it might not be that big of a chore. Remember to bring something for the instant gallery and there should be some raffle items. Please bring some more items if you have them.
